Dental Emergencies

From Sudden Toothaches to Knocked-Out Teeth - We've Seen It All, And We Fix It Fast.

Dental emergencies rarely happen at a “convenient” time. That’s why our office keeps emergency blocks on the schedule every day. With advanced digital imaging, an in-house lab, and a team trained in same day dentistry, we can diagnose the source of pain within minutes and start treatment immediately. Below are three of the most frequent cases we handle-along with the proven solutions we provide.
SMILES ON 35th can help with your toothache tooth ache

Severe Toothache

A relentless, pulsating pain often signals deep infection. We begin with a rapid 3-D CBCT scan to pinpoint the exact nerve involved, then administer targeted local anesthesia so you feel instant relief. Depending on severity, we’ll either prescribe same-day antibiotics, or perform a procedure-all in a single visit-preventing the infection from spreading to the jaw or bloodstream.
SMILES ON 35th can help with your broken or chipped tooth

Chipped or Broken Tooth

Cracks and breaks expose delicate inner dentin, leading to sharp sensitivity and risk of further fracture. Smaller fractures can be repaired using nano hybrid composite. For larger breaks, our CEREC system mills a custom porcelain crown on-site in about 90 minutes-so you leave with a fully restored, natural-looking tooth the same day.
SMILES ON 35th can help with your knocked out tooth

Knocked-Out Tooth

Time is critical: arrive within 30-60 minutes and chances of successful re-implantation skyrocket. We’ll gently clean the root, stabilize the tooth with a splint, and monitor healing. If re-insertion isn’t possible, we’ll place an immediate implant or high-quality temporary prosthetic, preserving your smile and bone structure until a permanent solution is ready.

Patient Testimonials

Watch how we have helped countless patients achieve a healthy and beautiful smile

I’ve had such a positive experience at SMILES ON 35th. The staff treats me with respect, kindness, and a great sense of humor, always paying attention to what matters most to me as a patient. They’ve taken excellent care of my smile—my teeth are straight, and I fully trust them with all my dental work. I’d highly recommend SMILES ON 35th.

I used to think I was invincible, skipping brushing and flossing because I was a ‘tough guy’ who’d live forever. One cracked tooth led me to Dr. Shahid, where I learned my mouth needed some treatment. After going through the treatment, my gums are now 100 percent better and the bleeding is practically gone, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. You could say I’m a born-again dental believer—trust me, a good dentist makes all the difference!

I’m Lauren, and my husband and I both see Dr. Shahid for our dental care. She’s wonderfully sweet and kind, always explaining every step so we feel completely at ease. I love that she remembers what’s going on in my life and asks about it each visit—it shows how much she truly cares. Her dentistry is amazing, and I wholeheartedly recommend coming to see her.

I recently went through a full mouth reconstruction with Dr. Shahid, and as an extremely nervous, anxious patient, I was amazed at how calm she kept me during the entire eight-hour procedure. She genuinely cared about my teeth and took the time to reassure me every step of the way, which made a huge difference. I’m incredibly grateful for Dr. Shahid’s expertise and the care she showed throughout my journey.

FAQs

Looking for clear information before your visit? Our Frequently Asked Questions compile straightforward answers to the topics patients ask about most.
How do I know if my pain is a real emergency or something that can wait?
If the pain keeps you from eating, sleeping, or focusing-or if there’s swelling, bleeding, or a loose/ broken tooth-treat it as an emergency. Waiting can turn a manageable issue into a costly, potentially dangerous infection.
Unlike adult teeth, baby teeth are not re-implanted, but you still need an exam to ensure no fragments remain and the developing adult tooth is safe. Call us immediately and bring the tooth so we can assess the socket and plan for space maintenance if needed.
Thanks to our in-office CEREC milling unit, we can digitally scan, design, and place a permanent ceramic crown in about 90 minutes, meaning you avoid a temporary crown and a second visit.
We accept all dental insurance (as long as your policy allows you to see any dentist) and will submit all of your insurance claims. We will do our best to help you maximize your insurance benefits. Benefits vary by plan.
We offer a low-cost, in-house, dental membership plan for a nominal fee. Save thousands of dollars a year with our exclusive membership plan – a perfect solution for individuals and families without dental insurance.
